Color in Design

Color… the age-old debate when it comes to design. Where to use it, how much to use, what colors should one use, is this color a passing fad or is it timeless, have you overused the color already?! These questions can plague clients throughout the design process. With an endless supply of inspiration photos when you’re scrolling Instagram or Pinterest, it’s no wonder people don’t know where to begin when adding color to their home. Have no fear! We are going to share some of our favorite moments when a color has been used in a BIG way and completely transformed the space. No matter your favorite hue, we are going to share some spaces sure to give you the inspiration you were looking for.

Green with Envy

Are we the only ones wishing we could spend all day in these green spaces? It’s no wonder companies like Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore chose green as the color of the year. From entryways to powder bathrooms: these spaces don’t disappoint in their use of green. We can’t possibly choose a favorite!

50 Shades of Blue…

And we love every single one! Did you know blue is the most popular color worldwide? The use of blue in your home can create a calm and secure vibe. When used as more of an accent color, blue can create a striking and energizing look.  Whether you use blue as a statement piece in some chairs or used multiple shades to create a monochromatic look, we love how the use of blue elevates these spaces.

Gold Rush

They say yellow is the color that represents sunshine, warmth, and happiness… and we couldn’t agree more! The use of yellow in these spaces evokes instant joy. I mean just look at these spaces and tell us you aren’t smiling right now!

Red Letter Days

All the heart eyes for these spaces and their festive use of red!  What is not to love? Red is an attention getting and often signifies something important. From the use of red in wallpaper, to lacquered walls and built-in bunkbeds, these red color moments bring the wow factor.

Rose Colored Glasses

Move over baby pink, these shades of pink are bringing sophistication and elegance to these spaces, and we can’t get enough! An unexpected but elegant color to integrate into your space, pink is an excellent choice.

Our final vote on color in the home? Do it! No matter what hues you gravitate towards, we love seeing how anything from a pillow, an accent wall, or whole room can be highlighted in your favorite color and add personality to your space.
