Jonah graduated from Texas Tech University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Architecture after completing part of his architectural education in Seoul and Busan, South Korea.
Growing up, Jonah has maintained many of his creative interests—cinematography, graphic design, photography, and more. Throughout his university career, those interests manifested themselves in new ways, from operating his college’s publication to marketing and recruitment.
Jonah was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but was raised across several states due to his family’s military background. From the constant travel in his upbringing, his interests have become aligned with becoming more community-conscious. This is most evident in his commitment to service.
After seeing a need for volunteerism within the field of design, Jonah started the organization After You as a means to equip young designers with the tools to promote change. After You has participated in a wide range of projects both related and unrelated to design, local and global—at every step providing its members the opportunity to raise community consciousness. The organization’s portfolio includes teaching conversational English, editing children’s books, and creating marketing materials for non-profits.
